~Cambridge~

Choptank River Lighthouse, Cambridge, MD

As one of the first colonial cities in Maryland, Cambridge in Dorchester County can trace its roots back to English settlement in 1684. Cambridge's rich history boasts of inhabitants like Algonquian Native Americans residing along the Choptank River and the famous Harriet Tubman, who was born in 1820 in the County and famously freed enslaved Africans through the Underground Railroad. Visitors can learn more about Tubman and other rich history at the Harriet Tubman Museum & Education Center.

Visitors to Cambridge can take up their own temporary residency at the luxurious Hyatt on the Choptank, or in town at something more cozy like the Cambridge House Bed & Breakfast, as they explore the historic downtown district and shops by day and the local restaurants by night.
